Reelsound
specialises in mobile recording for choirs, brass bands of
all kinds of acoustic musical groups from large orchestras
and chamber groups down to small school choirs and solo singers
and instrumentalists.
Whether it be the English
Baroque Choir or a small primary school
we have always prided ourselves on having the best recording
equipment available based around the Soundfield
microphone. This incredibly accurate and expensive microphone
was initially developed as part of an advanced sound system
known as Ambisonics which enables a totally accurate picture
of a venue to be recreated in surround sound.
Over the
years we have made CD recordings for the English
Baroque Choir, the Choir
of York Minster and recently Black
Umfolosi singers from Zambia and the
Dublin Gospel Choir. Male Voice
Choirs are a speciality and this year we have recorded
CDs for Louth, Beverley, Colne
Valley, and Steeton
MVC along with the Gentlemen
Songsters of Dudley.
Our Brass
Band recordings include Championship and first section bands
such as Harrogate,
Clacton
On Sea and Cottingham as well
as many smaller bands such as Reeth and Swinton
Silver bands. Our jazz CDs cover everything from large
swing bands and youth jazz orchestras
down to small combos and trad bands and this year have made
a couple of great live concert recordings for small jazz combos.
Over the
years we have produced CDs for full size orchestras,
chamber groups, solo singers, operatic
tenors, and instrumentalists of all shapes and sizes
including the duet Knoop
Waldock recording a Britten CD. We have recorded
many organists including the noted American
organist Carlo
Curly on a newly restored organ in
Nun Monkton Priory near York and last year we accomplished
a first for us in making a CD recording for a large fairground
organ De
Grote Gavioli .
We
treat recording a school choir in the same way as we make
any mobile recording professional level of recording as any
group of musicians and we have a special package price for
recording a school choir.
